Hello! I’m Tyne (rhymes with fine, mine, sign, line, twine), a recent college graduate currently residing in the D.C. area. I decided to start sundaes & salutations as a way to get myself to do the things I am interested in but always feel like I am too busy to do, which at this point include mostly traveling and cooking/baking, although I’m a fan of all things lifestyle.
At this point, I am actually a much more seasoned traveler than chef, having been fortunate enough to go on multiple cross-country trips with my family and a few European adventures through school programs. Most recently, I spent fall 2011/spring 2012 in Berlin and Rome, and after being back home for about two weeks, I’ve been ready ever since to jet off somewhere new again. However, given my college-student-status, I have neither the funds nor the vacation time for an overseas experience, so I’m determined to do as much exploring as I can in D.C.
And what about the food? Well, yes, there will be lots of food on this blog. Although I have always been confident that I could cook and bake some wonderful things if I wanted to, I never really took the time to get off of Pinterest and into the kitchen. Recently though, I have started to adopt a healthier lifestyle and cook some real things for myself, and I feel like this blog will be a good way for me to continue to grow and expand upon my culinary ways. I must point out that this is not going to be a health food blog, although I hope to strike a good balance between food that is good for the body and good for the soul 😉
So thanks for stopping by, and I hope you enjoy your time on sundaes & salutations! And if you just can’t get enough of yours truly, feel free to follow me on Twitter at @SundaesAndSals or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org!
